I firmly believe in small gestures: pay for their coffee, hold the door for strangers, over tip, smile or try to be kind even when you don’t feel like it, pay compliments, chase the kid’s runaway ball down the sidewalk and throw it back to him, try to be larger than you are - particularly when it’s difficult.
People do notice, people appreciate. I appreciate it when it’s done to (for) me.
Small gestures can be an effort, or actually go against our grain (‘I’m not a big one for paying compliments…’), but the irony is that almost every time you make them, you feel better about yourself. For a moment life suddenly feels lighter, a bit more Gene Kelly dancing in the rain."

Rachel Maddow every night:
- 1: It's a big news day! So much stuff going on in the world today. So much stuff I'm not sure how we're gonna fit it all in to the show tonight. Just, wow!

I have decided that this summer I want to wear strapless dresses, because I have a few that I’ve never worn and I need to get over my issues.
Like, a few summers ago I got over a few things. I started wearing sleeveless dresses - I’ve always hated my fat arms - and I started wearing sandals - I’ve always hated my feet.
So I’m like, what else am I hating on? What can I tackle next to stop fucking hating parts of myself??
I might make a list of things to unhate.
i love this idea! go, you!!
